The Scarlet A

I’ve just added the Out Campaign’s Logo to the side bar.

The campaign encourages Atheists to come Out of the Closet (or whatever the religious version of this term would be – Out of the Vestry?) and to be proud of their lack of faith.

I’m pretty much as Out as I can be, (I have been described as an Evangelical Atheist which I quite like!) but would like to show my support.

Go on! Give the A a click!

  1. The Out Campaign is one of the best ideas of the 21st Century. Richard Dawkins is so geeky in the explaining the scarlet A video. I love geeks! You can tell in the video he is so passionate about Science and Atheism the way he instructs the girls to go to his website. He gets so excited at the thought of people learning the truth about the universe so they can enjoy their lives as much as he does! It is so comforting to know I live in the same world and at the same time as Richard dawkins. I saw him in Portland at Portland State University. While waiting for his lecture, I thought it so ironic, that thousands were showing up to see a guy who was going to tell us were all gonna die. lol. Afterward, he signed my book and I showed him the front and back of my customized Richard dawkins sweatshirt He smiled sweetly with his glowing rosy cheeks. Christians truly have the wrong idea about Atheists, there isn’t a more gentle man than Richard. He emanates jubilation with his melodic disposition. He’s so loved by his devoted fans. After seeing the standing ovations from the packed crowd, I can say with confidence Richard dawkins is truly a Rock Star!

  2. Yep I agree with what you say about people’s perception of us. I too am mild mannered, polite, and generally a nice person to be around (well at least I’d like to hope that I am!) I think that too many people (on both sides) allow themselves to anger too quickly and forget that the victor of a debate is rarely the one shouting the insults. Sometimes we all get a bit over-excited though or even need to emphasis a point with a level of force, but the need for reason and basic decency remains. (I haven’t posted anything today instead I’ve spent my blogging time looking at some other atheist sites and am suprised and disappointed at some of them- hence this little rant- sorry!)
